Welcome to Penny’s Motel, Thornbury’s not-so hidden little gem!
Sure, we’re a cozy 13-room motel, but we like to think of ourselves as the life of the Georgian Bay party. With our on-site Après restaurant (yes, you can get room service—we’re fancy like that), a sauna to warm you up after a day on the slopes or trails, and our walk-to-everything location, adventure is basically served on a silver platter.
Need a break from the hustle and bustle of life? We’ve got you. Slip into one of our cozy robes, curl up by the fire pit, or enjoy a laid-back movie night—because unwinding is an experience we take seriously (but not too seriously) and yes, we love our pooches and your dog is totally invited 🐾!
And let’s not forget the real MVPs: our world-class, ridiculously friendly staff who will bend over backwards to make you smile (or at least pretend to laugh at our jokes). So, why settle for ordinary when you can have Penny’s? We’re not perfect, but hey, neither is your GPS—luckily, we’re easy to find!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penny's. It is certainly not the classic "motel" experience you would expect. The room was perfectly clean and well decorated, and the bathroom is gorgeous with heated floors that are very nice in the morning. The courtyard was a great place to hang out and relax. The personal touches were the icing on the cake. And I can't say enough about how great, friendly and helpful the staff all were. When we return to the area again, we will for sure be staying at Penny's. The check-in, checkout and room code process meant not carrying a key. We loved this feature. 5 stars, highly recommend

Penny's warm and welcoming staff were just the beginning of our relaxing stay. Our pristine room was well appointed, thoughtfully decorated with the most comfortable mattress and pillows. Then there's the food! Excellent creative selections served by the most friendly staff. Penny's sets the bar for accommodations in this area! We highly recommend this unique concept retro-style Motel!!!

We had an amazing short stay here, with our dogs. The place was incredibly cute, clean and so nice. And so were the people. I was so pleasantly surprised to get a text from the owner that they were about to vacuum and blow the leaves, worried that our dogs might get upset (they would have)... who does that? It was so lovely, we felt so at home. And the Apres bar had great food and drinks. Overall, we LOVED it.
